Leyda Pereyra
Second Look Network Program Manager
Leyda Pereyra is a social justice, equity and human rights advocate. Leyda provides programmatic management and support to a coalition of Second Look advocates and litigators across the country, who are representing or supporting individuals seeking relief from extreme prison sentences. Leyda grounds herself in the centering and uplifting of the disenfranchised and overlooked, and her priorities at the Second Look Network include helping to build a program that will keep the voices of the incarcerated prioritized while connecting advocates to litigation, legislative, and communications support.
Prior to joining The Sentencing Project, Pereyra served as an operational strategist and consultant to various organizations and campaigns that centered health equity, economic empowerment, research and public policy through culturally responsive social justice frameworks. She received her Bachelors of Science in Administration of Justice from Texas Southern University while completing a fellowship at their Center for Justice Research.
