Safa Madar
Youth Justice Advocacy Fellow
Safa Madar is a junior at George Washington University studying Sociology and Political Science. Being a second-generation Somali immigrant is a huge part of her identity and has largely influenced her passion for social justice and politics. Previously, Safa interned at The Legal Rights Center, a nonprofit law firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She contributed to the End Youth Prisons MN campaign, which aimed to expose injustices in the juvenile justice system and advocated for the closure of the last youth prison in Minnesota. She’s also served as a legislative intern for Senator Tina Smith.
