In a letter of support submitted to the Senate Judiciary Committee, The Sentencing Project’s Executive Director Amy Fettig expressed the importance of passing the Eliminating a Quantifiably Unjust Application of the Law (EQUAL) Act, a bipartisan sentencing reform bill that would finally eliminate the federal sentencing disparity between crack cocaine and powdered cocaine offenses, and hope today’s hearing will convey its importance.
